NCQA PCSP
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has extended the medical home concepts to specialists with the new NCQA Patient-Centered Specialty Practice (PCSP) recognition program. This specialty recognition program is the first of its kind, making it possible for specialty care practices to earn recognition. Specialty care offices that are committed to access, communication, and care coordination can earn rewards from the health plans that recognize PCSP status.
Practices that become recognized will demonstrate patient-centered care and clinical quality through: efficient referral processes and care coordination with referring clinicians, timely patient-focused care management, and continuous clinical quality improvement within their practice.
